Honolulu Night Market

This past weekend, and for the first time, Wandar West excitedly joined the already large and constantly growing Honolulu Night Market family.

When we arrived to set up, the sun was still out. The scene seemed mildly chaotic; people moved from left to right, arms wrapped around boxes full of clothes, knick-knacks, and all sorts of intricate trinkets. In the warm afternoon haze shoppers drifted in and out of the warehouse.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, there was a quick change in atmosphere. More and more people arrived. Performers on unicycles and stilts weaved through the crowd. Musicians took the stage. Shoppers became spectators. And the air felt electric.

Being at the night market was an incredible and unique experience for us. The crowd ranged all-ages and had people from all walks of life. It was a place where fashionistas connected with sea lovers, yogis with foodies, and all other sorts of mixes. For one night, one square block represented the most passionate, eccentric personalities of Oahu.

We of Wandar West, felt lucky to be a part of it. There was definitely an overwhelming sense of support. To our delight, our functional and fashion forward surf bikinis received raving approval.

If you haven’t already, we highly recommend visiting the next Night Market. It is held every third Saturday of the month in Kaka‘ako.  We hope to see you there!

With all our love, Wandar West.
